Funding Available for Caregiver Support and Community Living Connections

On January 26, 2015, Aging and Disability Services released applications for funding in two service areas—Family Caregiver Support Program and Community Living Connections. Both applications are posted on the Seattle Human Services Department Funding Opportunities webpage.

Caregiver Support

The Family Caregiver Support Program helps unpaid primary caregivers of adults age 18 and older who have a functional disability. Supports and services include information and assistance, support groups, counseling, training/consultation, and an evidence-based assessment called Tailored-Care or TCARE®. Aging and Disability Services will contract with one agency to provide emergency respite coordination. All agencies are expected to perform outreach activities.

Approximately $1.6 million will be available for a 12-month contract period (July 1, 2015–June 30, 2016). Submission deadline is 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

Community Living Connections

Community Living Connections is a new aging and disability resource network that expands  Information and Assistance programs to connect older adults and individuals with disabilities to supports and services to live independently in the community. Approximately $2.3 million will be available for a 12-month contract period (July 1, 2015–June 30, 2016). Submission deadline is 12:00 p.m on Wednesday, March 18, 2015.

RFP Information Sessions

All interested parties are strongly encouraged to attend a Request for Proposal information session, offered Tuesday, February 3, 2015 (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) at Tukwila Community Center (12424 42nd Avenue South, Tukwila) and Wednesday, February 11, 2015 (1:00–4:00 p.m.) at the Bellevue Regional Library (1111 110th Avenue NE, Bellevue).
