Area Plan on Aging: We Want to Hear From You!

The Seattle-King County Advisory Council on Aging & Disability Services (ADS) will host public hearings regarding the draft 2016–2019 Area Plan on Aging, and draft recommendations for the 2016 discretionary budget allocations.

The Area Plan, a state required document, charts the course ADS will follow to create an age-friendly community. The plan describes the function of ADS as the local Area Agency on Aging, presents relevant demographic trends, and outlines the major goals and objectives to be achieved between 2016 and 2019.

A three-week public comment period was scheduled from July 20 to August 14, 2015. During that time, community members and stakeholders have been invited to comment on the plan at public hearings. Hearings were held on July 28, 2015 (Bellevue Public Library) and July 29, 2015 (Kent Public Library). On Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:30 a.m., additional input will be gathered at a meeting in the Seattle Municipal Tower (700 5th Avenue, Room 4096). For more information, click here.

In addition to the public hearings, comments may be submitted by phone, email or regular mail:
